Wheaton Youth Center "Concert Scene" Reunion

  • Saturday, Mar 7, 2009 12:00 pm to 6:00pm

The Wheaton Youth Center opened its doors on Georgia Avenue in December 1963 and for the next decade was one of the premiere locations for the emerging suburban MD concert scene--from local band teen dances with The Renegades, JD and The Jesters, The Nowhere Men, Lawrence & The Arabians--to national acts such as Grin, Fallen Angels, Alice Cooper, Bob Seger, Iggy Pop, Dr. John, Rare Earth, Rod Stewart, Led Zeppelin and Teegarden & Van Winkle!

WERE YOU THERE? WERE YOU IN A BAND? OR DID YOU GO TO THE CONCERTS? OR BOTH?  We're making a documentary.  Come share your stories, anecdotes, pictures and scrapbooks.  See memorabilia on display.  If you attended the shows, or were a musician, or just curious, come on by.

Also: Record Swap! (a few dealers will be set up)
