Grand Opening: Wheaton Arts Parade Gallery

  • Saturday, Feb 9, 2019 6pm - 8pm

Hours: Sunday-Thursday, 11am - 7pm, Friday & Saturday, 11am - 8pm

The mission of the Wheaton Arts Parade (WAP) is to use art to bring the Wheaton community together to create and celebrate its diverse cultures. WAP activities lead up to the annual Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival on September 22, 2019. Georgia Ave is closed to motor vehicles so people can pull floats and dance, play music and showcase their art. The festival is a chance for the community to gather and eat, watch dance, listen to music and readings, view paintings and sculpture, and even make art. Like the gallery, the festival is a place for artists to exhibit and sell their work, but most importantly it is a chance for local artists to be appreciated by the community and for all to see Wheaton's potential as an arts destination.

Meet the artists and get a closer look at their work - original paintings, photographs, drawings, sculpture, prints, jewelry and more. Refreshments will be served. The gallery is located on the second level of Westfield Wheaton Mall and features the diverse work of more than 15 Wheaton and Montgomery County artists.
