The 4th Annual Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival
Has a New Twist
Because of COVID-19, the Wheaton Arts Parade (WAP) can't risk bringing the community together this year for our annual parade and festival, but we are still bringing art to the streets of Wheaton. This time it's your turn to walk ... to the art! Follow the Yarn Bomb along the Path of Pyramids. There are thirteen in all with 4ft and 8 ft edges, painted and sculpted by local artists. See if you can find them. But you can take your time. Instead of a one-day parade, the pyramid installation will last from September 20-October 4. You can find a map of the pyramid locations on our website. The map and the signs at each pyramid location link you to an audio podcast by the artist. Grand Opening Sunday, 9/20 at 2pm & after.

The WAP2020 Festival is a Virtual V-FEST
The WAP V-Fest features performances by local students, artists, and arts organizations including Strathmore, Adventure Theatre, The Puppet Company, Story Tapestries, Community Bridges, AGT Quarter Finalist Kelvin Dukes, Wheaton Film Festival, and a “Wheaton All-Stars” collection of musicians Emceed by Mark Seagraves. Please join us on our Facebook page (@WheatonArtsParade) as we go "Live" on the dates and times listed below with some amazing performances. We would love to hear your thoughts and comments about the festival events! Programming kicks off with a replay of the official unveiling of the pyramids and opening remarks. The schedule also is available on our website.

SPECIAL THANKS
We want to thank everyone who helped to produce this years Wheaton Arts Parade & Festival from the artists who created their pyramids and yarn bomb, to the performers, musicians and content providers. Year after year, Wheaton shows how much art means to our community. We want to give special thanks to some of the people whose names don't appear in the program but who have given their time to make it all possible: Dick Bangham, Chris Bruno, Joe Callaway, Lauren Campbell, Sidney Cooper, Paul Falcon, Gene Miller, Luisa Montero, Hugh Moore, Oyin Ogungbemile, Dorothy Rogers, Mark Seagraves, and to Paige Friedeman whose idea to have an art installation was the inspiration that saved WAP2020.
