This specialty shop features new and vintage comics, paperbacks, hardcovers, collectible card games & toys. A visit to Barbarian is like a tour back in time. Comic book art and old Spider-Man, Batman and Superman comics hang on the wall, bringing back memories from the 12-cent days.

Opened in 1967, this shop will celebrate its 50th anniversary in Wheaton next year. The characters in the comics have changed and the shop has three times shifted locations on Triangle Lane, but the allure of a fantasy world and engrossing characters has kept the customers coming back for more.  It is renowned to the comic book crowd in the Washington area.  Note: Please see the article in attachments.
