The Taste of Wheaton takes place on Sunday, May 16, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm in the Wheaton Triangle at the corner of Grandview Avenue and Reedie Drive in downtown Wheaton (one block north of the Wheaton Metro station).
The Taste of Wheaton will feature:
- Food samples from downtown Wheaton’s best restaurants at prices ranging from $1 to $5 per “taste”
- Hispanic wine tasting (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Spain) hosted by Giramondo Wine Adventures*. To serve as a volunteer in the wine tasting pavilion click here.
- Kids rides, Face painting, balloon sculptures and caricature drawings
- Craft, collectibles and jewelry vendors
- County/nonprofit and local business exhibit booths
- Two stages of live entertainment featuring:
Matt Wigler (Jazz) 11:30-12:30pm
Sin Miedo (Salsa) 1:00-2:00pm
Groove Killers (Top 40, R&B) 2:30-3:30pm
The Natty Beaux (Swing) 4:00-5:00pm
Wheaton Studio of Dance (hip hop, modern, ballet) 1:00-1:30pm
Christylez (hip hop) 1:45-2:45pm
ElectroKoustic Band (jazz) 12:00-3:00pm (wine tasting pavilion)
Dynamix Latin Dance Team (salsa) 1:00-2:00pm
Cultural Dance by Souzan (belly dance) 4:00-4:30pm
CrashChord (pop, classic rock) 3:00-3:45pm
Blue Sky Puppet Theatre 12:00-12:45pm
*To participate in the wine tasting, attendees must purchase tickets in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available on event day. The Taste of Wheaton is a project of the Wheaton Urban District in conjunction with the Mid-County Regional Services Center and the Wheaton Redevelopment Program.
