County officials and members of the community will join the Evergreen School students and staff for an unveiling of a mural entitled, “Rescue a Single Life and You Rescue the World” painted on the side of the Banagricola Building in the Wheaton Triangle. The concept for the mural design came about after a visit by the students to the Wheaton Rescue Squad.
The Evergreen School in Wheaton is a Montessori school serving children ages 2 ½ to 12. The project, created by the school’s elementary students, began with a visit from world-renowned muralist Byron Peck who spoke to the students about the art of murals. Students drew and colored the design and worked from a grid to transfer the design to the wall.
